Regular practice
is essential.

Practicing a half hour each day is better than practicing two hours every four days. Find a regular time of day that works for you.

Thank you for your interest in theharmonyhouse music lesson studio. All lessons are designed and conducted by James Linderman. James has been teaching for over 30 years and has managed and designed lesson programs for The Music Shoppe in Thornhill and The Music Lesson Place in Oshawa.

in studioGuitar students all study exclusively from A Modern Method for Guitar Vol.1 and Melodic Rhythms for Guitar, both books written by William Leavitt and published by Berklee College Press, Modern Reading Text in 4/4 Time by Louis Belson and Mel Bay’s Complete Book of Guitar Chords, Scales and Arpeggios by William Bay. All books can be purchased from The Arts Music Store in Newmarket or from one of the many other music retailers in the GTA. Students are encouraged to take the books to Staples to have them wire spiral bound (approx.$10.00 for all books)

All lessons are 1/2 hour long, once a week, and are billed out at $99.00 per month from September (or date lessons begin) to June (10 months). All lessons must be paid when lessons begin with post dated cheques made payable to "James Linderman" and dated for the 1st of each month.

A minimum of two weeks notice is required when a student wishes to end lessons before the end of the lesson year. Payments will not be refunded for cheques already cashed and times for the next season will not be reserved for students not completing the full lesson year to the end of June.

Each student is scheduled for a specific time and day of the week for their lesson. Students may reschedule up to 2 missed lessons during the lesson year. Alternate times are often available within the lesson season to make up a missed lesson and students and parents are encouraged to inquire about available times for these 2 reschedules. Any lessons canceled by the teacher are subject to rescheduling.

Slow Children PlayingDriving very slowly and carefully on Surin Court is an issue for all of us with children who enjoy playing on the street, especially during the nicer weathers. Please be aware of their presence and visit our street as a cautious and responsible guest.
